Float Your Fanny

Due to the harsh winter which seemed never ending, the late ice thaw and high water levels, the 34th annual Float Your Fanny Down the Ganny Race, which commemorates the 1980 flooding of downtown Port Hope, was postponed from April 4th to April 18th. Although club members do not brave the frigid waters this is the perfect kick off to ticket sales for the HAHC draw with many spectators attending this popular local event.

Using inside connections (our own Bare is The Fanny Chair) a booth was booked in Fannyville (the river bank along Cavan Street), where the event committee sets up activities and amenities for spectators. President Earl invited all club members to come out and help while enjoying the Float Your Fanny race. When the day arrived the usual canopy was set up and the Massey Harris draw tractor, 2nd place pedal tractor and 3rd place die cast were brought out for viewing.

When the big day arrived it came with perfect conditions under sunny skies. On the day 5 ¾ books of tickets were sold, a great start to the 2015 campaign. A big thankyou to those who attended and helped out!
