The 23rd Annual Roseneath Car, Truck and Tractor Show

This show, which takes place at the Roseneath Fair Grounds, celebrated its 24th year under clear, sunny skies. In fact, it got quite hot in the afternoon. Although there were many other shows in the area this event still drew 120 cars and trucks, 15 tractors and around 20 motorcycles. And as always there was an impressive variety of makes and models on display. The drive by awards, which allows spectators to see the vehicles and there owners collecting deserved trophies, took place at 3pm, with the winners of the tractor show and games leading the way. Things wrapped up around 3:30pm.

As in the past, HAHClub members attended and participated in games organized by member Gerald Beavan. This year, events were changed slightly with the Sprint Race being dropped and replaced with two new games – the May Pole and Cans in a Barrel. It was felt that the Sprints, although much enjoyed, was getting a touch risky with spectators lining the track.

For those not familiar with the May Pole, a string attached to the May Pole is attached to the tractor fender with a magnet and the operator drives around the pole without pulling the magnet off or letting the string go too slack. Cans in a Barrel sees tractor and driver going up and down a short course and using a paddle to transfer cans to a barrel at one end, getting as many in as they can in a set time.

All-in-all, it was another successful event and was enjoyed by all that attended. Thanks go to the organizers and to those who came out on a beautiful, fun filled day.
